As part of our continued commitment to providing a quality service we have extended our booking conditions to include Cancellation Protection. We will reimburse you (The Covered Person) the Course Fee, excluding a Cancellation Administration Fee (please refer to the General Information Section) should your participation in the Course be cancelled or curtailed before completion, directly as a result of:

• Death, Bodily Injury, Illness or Compulsory Quarantine of:
  
  a) a Covered Person, or
  b) any person accompanying the Covered Person, or
  c) any close relative (including fiancé(e)) or business associate necessitating a Covered Person to cancel or curtail his/her participation in any course

• Redundancy (provided that such redundancy qualifies for payment under Redundancy Payments Act) or marital breakdown (provided that formal legal proceedings have been commenced) of:
  
  a) a Covered Person, or
  b) any person accompanying the Covered Person

• Summoning to jury service or witness attendance in a court of law:
  
  a) a Covered Person
  b) any person accompanying the Covered Person

• Major Damage or Burglary at the home or place of business of:
  
  a) a Covered Person
  b) any person accompanying the Covered Person

• Adverse Weather Conditions making it impossible for a Covered Person to travel to the point of departure at commencement of the outward trip.

• Unforeseen Occupational Posting of a Covered Person by his/her current employer (Self Employed Persons are not covered under this Section).

• Theft of a private motor vehicle up to 7 days prior to commencement of the outward trip, or a motoring accident occurring during travel to the point of departure of:
  
  a) a Covered Person
  b) any person accompanying the Covered Person

• Strikes, locked out workers, industrial action, riots and/or civil commotion, hi-jack, avalanches, landslides, adverse weather or mechanical breakdown of scheduled aircraft, coach, train or sea vessel services in which the Covered Person was booked to travel to participate in their Course.

Definitions

• 'BODILY INJURY' means identifiable physical injury which:
  
  a) is sustained by a Covered Person, and
  b) is caused by an Accident during the Period of this Protection, and
  c) solely and independently of any other cause, except illness directly resulting from or medical or surgical treatment rendered necessary by such injury, occasions the death or disablement of a Covered Person within twelve months from the date of the Accident.

• 'Accident' means a sudden, unexpected, unusual, specific event which occurs at an identifiable time and place, but shall also include exposure resulting from a mishap to a conveyance in which a Covered Person is travelling

Exclusions

• Participation in the course which is booked or commenced by a Covered Person:
  
  a) contrary to medical advice, or
  b) to obtain medical treatment, or
  c) after a terminal prognosis has been made

• Pregnancy and childbirth

• Any condition or set of circumstances known to the Covered Person at the time of effecting this Protection where such condition or set of circumstances could reasonably have been expected to give rise to Cancellation or Curtailment.

• Any cancellation(s) in any way caused or contributed to by an act of terrorism involving the use or release or the threat thereof of any nuclear weapon or device or chemical or biological agent. For the purpose of this exclusion an act of terrorism means an act, including but not limited to the use of force or violence and/or the threat thereof, of any person or group(s) of persons, whether acting alone or on behalf of, or in connection with any organisation(s) or government(s), committed for political, religious, ideological or similar for purposes or reasons including the intention to influence any government and/or to put the public, or any section of the public, in fear.

• This Protection does not cover:
  
  a) loss or destruction of or damage to any property whatsoever or any loss or expense whatsoever resulting or arising therefrom or any consequential loss.
  b) any legal liability of whatsoever nature, directly or indirectly caused by or contributed to by or arising from (i) ionising radiation or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear fuel or from any nuclear waste from the combustion of nuclear fuel (ii) the radioactive, toxic, explosive or other hazardous properties of any nuclear assembly or nuclear component thereof.

General Condition

Any fraud misstatement or concealment in the statement made by or on behalf of a Covered Person prior to or when effecting the Protection or in the submission of a claim made hereunder shall render this Protection null and void and all claims hereunder shall be forfeited.

General Information

• The protection referred to herein is subject to English Law.

• For the purpose of Clarity Disinclination to Travel or Attend is excluded and our standard Booking Conditions apply.

• Reimbursement relates solely to your course fee and does not include any other travel costs.

• You will be required to complete a form to support your reimbursement, this needs to be accompanied by the original booking invoice and cancellation invoice where appropriate. All charges made for the completion of Medical Certificates or other Documentation required to support your reimbursement are your responsibility and are non-refundable.

• An administration fee is applicable to all reimbursements and are based on the course value as undernoted:
  
  Courses up to £1,500 in value; £50
  Courses valued between £1,501 - £4,000 £100
  Courses valued in excess of £4,000 £200

• All claims for reimbursement should be addressed to Poole Martin Limited who will act as the appointed Claims Coordinator.
